I want to put a walk-in freezer in a spot in my kitchen that has no floor drains. It's also a spot from which it would be pretty much not possible to run a drain line to a floor drain or to anywhere reasonable (like outside).
My idea: what if I run the freezer's drain line into a permanently-installed vessel/well behind the freezer, and then use a sump pump to automatically clear that well? It would pump the water through an overhead pipe and down the opposite wall, into a floor drain.
Has anyone seen this setup before? Is it a crazy idea?
