I don't really have an refrigeration experience but I understand the basics of how they work, and have some electrical knowledge.
I have a Frigidaire model ffus2613le0 that won't defrost. I've tested the thermostat (it read as a 0 ohms when cold and infinite resistance when dunked in warm water). The heater is reads 30 ohms. So replaced the control unit to the tune of $120. It's only been installed for about an hour but I see no change. It's still frozen up and it's not getting any colder than 20 degrees F in the freezer.
The refrigerator beeps 3 times when it's first plugged in. Previously it would beep 3 times every so often. I assume it was shutting down when trying to defrost. It would also shut down and come right back on if you tried to change what the temperature was set at. I haven't heard any beeping yet, and it no longer shuts down when I change the temperature setting...
Should I just wait longer or is there something else I need to look at?
This is the part I installed.
