GE Fridge, Probably 10-15 years old, in current apartment. It kicks on every 20-30 minutes and generates a somewhat loud buzzing sound, gradually increasing before kicking off again.

Landlord says there's nothing he can do about it as it's not causing any actual problems with the refrigerator, but I find it distracting and annoying, especially with how often it kicks on. Is this an abnormal rate for a fridge to kick in? And I guess my main question is just, do these symptoms sound typical for a certain problem? I don't think it's loud enough for it to be the compressor actually on its last legs. But I am not sure.
