I am purchasing a brand new fridge and have a tricky predicament.
I am buying this model http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/GFE26JBMTS
The problem is that I have a fairly narrow doorway to fit this through as well as a counter-top near the entry to deal with. I have sketched out the dimensions and there is simply no way to make this fridge fit through the doorway and make the corner into the kitchen-
The way I'm seeing it, the only hope to get it into the kitchen would be to lift it entirely horizontal like so-
I have read things on this sub as well as in the manufacturer's installation instructions saying to keep it upright in order to prevent bad things from happening.
What I'm not sure of is that the small amount of time required to move the fridge from one room into another is enough to cause damage due to being horizontal, or if that warning is only if you are setting it on its side for transport.
Is this a terrible idea, and I should go back to the drawing board, or does this seem doable? What would you do in this situation?
Thanks
