Brazing is tough...

I started my first job earlier this week. My boss has me doing all sorts of tests trying to figure out where I need work and areas needing training. Surprisingly the electrical stuff went perfect, the schooling really set me up good there. Brazing though. I feel like Bambi walking on ice. I spent half a day with a torch and little pieces of pipe and still don't have it down. I'm thankful for the weekend because I'm getting kind of down about having the same instructions repeated to me every time my boss walks up. It seems simple, and I feel like a total idiot for not picking it up. How long did it take you guys? Any tips on keeping a steady hand? I'm going to get an hour of practice before my boss arrives Monday. If I had the money to blow I'd get a torch and practice at home. :-/
