Hello r/refrigeration,
I have a very quick question and I would like to get your opinions before initiating a detailed search about this topic of which I am unsure of finding any relevant official information about...
As we all know, in today's regulation, Kigali A. forces F-gas HFC Phase Down only for stationary applications of Residential/Commercial/Industrial Refrigeration. As far as I know, there are no regulations for Transport Refrigeration equipment which can actually be considered as "moving" refrigerators. Am I right?
So, what do you think about the future of the Transport Refrigeration? Will Kigali affect on Transport Refrigeration as well? Today we see many trends related to "Electrification" of the TRUs (alternators, diesel engine generators, battery-powered for e-vehicles, etc...) but there is no specific regulation affecting the refrigerant choice being used in transport refrigeration. What do you think about the next generation of refrigerants? I personally believe that R452A has not a long life ahead... I don't hear anything being discussed about "flammable" refrigerants yet (A3 Hydrocarbons -R290- or mid-pressure HFO blends which are identified as A2L)
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments!
