Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a good multimeter, specifically a Fluke if possible.
My brother is a refrigeration tech and he's about to finish with school so I want to get him a nice Fluke as a graduation gift. I tinker with electronics so I have some familiarity with meters in general, but everything I do is low voltage DC so this is a bit out of my comfort zone. I want to make sure I'm not choosing something that lacks an important feature.
For reference, he does commercial refrigeration work at sites like Costco, Safeway, meat packing plants, etc. It's usually repair work but sometimes involves construction of new systems. I know he often has to diagnose and replace boards, but he also has to deal with some high voltage AC stuff.
My price range is $500 max, but I'm sure he wouldn't hate it if I offered to cover a portion of something more substantial if that's what he needs.
Any advice or input would be appreciated.
Thanks!
