Charging R404 freezer with Liquid Question

Tech charged a stand up freezer with R404A liquid in the suction line and started it up. Left and customer said it wasn’t cooling the next morning. I told him to shut it off. Tech said compressor was sweating bad but he thought it was because the evap fans hadn’t come on yet since it needed to get down to temp. I was just fielding opinions before i go there. I know a sweating compressor is generally an overcharge but assuming tech is accurate in that he weighed in it to factory, is it possible I can just recover and meter in or recover and install a liquid line schrader and I’ll be good? The freezer ran for 1 night only so hoping compressor isn’t shot…. Anyone experience this? Hoping I can save it lol
