Appliance tech looking to get into commercial refrigeration, recently got EPA universal

So I've had a job for about 2 or so years as an appliance technician, mostly working on electric stoves and domestic refrigerators and I recently got my EPA universal and I want to try to move onto commercial by the end of the year.

I'm decent with troubleshooting household refrigerators and testing and replacing components like evap fans and dampers (fuck putting dampers in older frigidaire side-by-sides btw) and checking for restrictions at the liquid line drier with temps.

I'm basically curious what you guys might suggest would be the best course forward to break into the field given my current background and little bit of experience. I had someone suggest that working as a service tech for a local vending machine company would be a good transition from residential appliances to more commercial stuff and someone else swears up and down that I should start doing residential hvac for a few years before touching anything else.
