My goto method has been to use a new perfectly sharp utility knife blade and be very careful, but even then, half the time, the insulation is fraying all over the place by the time I'm done. Depending on the batch of wire, sometimes the inner insulation is already starting to fray by the time I get the outer insulation off. The picture shown is probably the prettiest strip I've ever managed. There has to be a better way to strip this stuff. Anyone have any tips? Even if I have to get some fancy custom tool, I'll do it. I work OEM, and the customer requires this specific thermocouple wire on every machine, so I do a lot of these, and I still haven't gotten good at it. [link] [comments] |
