Hello,
I’m a tech for three McDonald’s in my area. I normally only work on the grills and other heating equipment but in the last year I’ve been tasked with repairing hvac and refrigeration equipment.
I have a large Manitowoc machine, it’s plumbed into a remote condenser in a mac8 unit along with our walk in freezer and cooler
This store in particular is unable to produce ice in this set up when it gets below freezing. Our other stores are set up exactly the same but do not have issues. I can power down the Mac unit and let things sit for 20 minutes and when I turn it back on the ice machine will make a batch of ice in 14 minutes and leaves the top left quadrant empty and the top right quadrant light compared to the bottom.
I’m just trying to figured out what could be going on or where to look. I’ve called out a tech before and he’s assured me things are correct and that it shouldn’t produce ice below freezing point outside, but since my other stores are able to my boss won’t take that as an acceptable answer.
Looking for any insight I can get on this. Only recent work we’ve had on the unit since it was installed a few years back is a headmaster unit installed 2017 summer
