After a life-changing accident four years ago I fell into the deepest depression of my life. Wasn’t taking care of myself or my living space. A few times I stopped eating completely for weeks, food would rot, and I just couldn’t be bothered to empty my refrigerator and went months before summoning the desire and the courage to get in there and clean it out. Two years ago, the fridge was in a similar situation. I went away for a couple months over the summer while the fridge was in that condition (already old, rotting things inside).
I hadn’t paid the electricity, so it was turned off, for months. I panicked when I came back home, didn’t even try to get in there and clean it out. Just got the power turned back on and tried to pretend the fridge didn’t exist.
I live in a rental. I know, joy. It’s time for me to move, and I finally thought “let me at least try, if I can salvage something I won’t end up having to pay for the refrigerator.” I opened it, it was disgusting, etc.
The thing I’m posting here about is potential for fire. I couldn’t help but noticed it smelled like smoke in the fridge. I finally found what I believe to be the culprit: a can of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, which under the pressure of mystical gases and whatnot I believe must be present in the refrigerator,
My questions are: is it possible a fire occurred from this in my refrigerator?
Is carbon monoxide a possibility?
