Hi guys, I’m having issues with my LG GSE25GSHECSS refrigerator. Two days ago when I got home from work I noticed that water was dripping from the water dispenser. I opened the freezer door and everything was melting. Temperature was 47 on freezer and 49 on fridge, settings are 0 and 37. I could feel the fans blowing but couldn’t hear the compressor. After cleaning up I unplugged it for a minute and plugged back, the compressor started immediately and after a few hours it reached the set points. I thought the problem was fixed but this morning I’ve noticed water dripping again (ice melting in the ice tray) temp was 30 on the freezer 40 on the fridge and same symptoms, unplug and replug and compressor started.
Reading around the internet it seems like a typical defrost timer issue, easy enough to fix, the problem is that I can’t find it in the drawings and spare parts list.
Could this refrigerator have the defrost timer on the controller board? I hope not, otherwise it would be much more expensive.
