Can I recharge a R404a industrial -40c chest freezer?

I bought a used industrial chest freezer 6 years ago that I converted to a fridge. Lately it's been running pretty much non stop and has progressively gotten to this point over the years. I let it defrost for about 8 hours and no water dripped out, so I assume that it may have developed some slow leaks over the years.

I watched a video of a guy recharging a R134a Chest freezer using a Bullet Piercing Valve as a recharge port, but I feel like my R404a chest freezer may be a whole different ball game.

I originally bought it for $250. Apparently it's $2500 new, but I don't really want to pay more than $150 to fix it. And since R404a is super expensive, I'm not sure that's possible.

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this on the cheap, or should I just give up on it?

Thanks so much!
