Training material for apprentices

I just finished my first year of school and I looking for material that could help with dialing in my ability to accurately diagnose specific refrigeration issues. I am sure most you have seen or filled out the tables where you identify high or low head, suction, superheat, subcooling and amp draw for scenarios like over/under charge, loose txv bulb, dirty condenser, liquid line restriction, inefficient compressor etc. Rather then just memorizing what the system is doing I am looking to know more about the "why"

If anyone has come across any resources that could help please let me know. I am looking for something a little more specific than the Modern Refrigeration textbook which is what gets used in school for the most part here in Canada.
