Garage Fridge Tripping GFCI outlet - Whirlpool ET0MSRXTQ02

Greetings and thank you up front.

My garage Fridgewas working great until this summer.

A soda burst in the fridge and I tried to clean it. May have sprayed some water inside to help with the cleaning. Less than 5 seconds spray with the hose. I only sprayed in the bottom of fridge, never touched the freezer ( I did clean it w damped rag as it kinda needed some cleanin).

The fridge started Tripping the outlet over night. If rest the outlet it would plug back in and work after testing the fridge (3 to 5 times flipping the door light switch.

Today I found the o outlet tripped again. I unplug the unit and rest the gfci. Upon attempting to plug back in the gfci immediately tripped. Just the slight touch of the contacts would trip the gfci.

I checked the outlet and all connections inside the box are OK.

I plugged a drill and it did not tripped the gfci. Then I tried the fridge again and immediately tripped.

I checked the condenser inside the freezer and there is a bit of frost in the lower coils but nothing to get excited about.

The pan on the back of the fridge collects the condensed water and is not overflowing.

I believe that there must be a short somewhere... this is my Q = Where can the short becleaning.

If not a short, what else?

Ps - have had the fridge in the same spot for over 2 summers...
