Compressor or relay

I had a call today where compressor was pulling close to 50 amps and not coming on. Start capacitor was within range. I usually throw a 3 in 1 for testing purposes but in this case it’s a 3/4 hp compressor and was not sure if that was okay to do. How does one test this relay?
