Fans off or on during satisfied?

Hello,

I have a question relating to our satisfied freezer evaps. First, some information on the system. It is R717, we maintain -20F, and our units are positioned directly across from each other.

We are having issues with ice build up on the shrouds and fans. I think it may be from the unit directly across from it going through defrost while the other unit, while satisfied is pulling that humidity through the fan and causing a lot of our buildup. If this is even a possible cause, will having the fans turn off while satisfied help this issue and could it possibly cause other issues?
